of those who came before me...
who had the grit and determination
to survive this land, despite all odds.
I will lift other talented creators up,
our culture rich in talent and trades.

for our people, for our land,

My artwork is a reflection of the wildness and wonder of the lush forests that surround me. This ever changing landscape is a constant inspiration, and a joy to my soul. When I run my hand across the bark of a towering tree, or ancient warm stone … I am connected. Truth is, we are all connected. From that connection comes my passion, a desire to share this great love with others. To spark the inspiration to take a closer look, to notice the tiny wonders nature has to offer. Through my work, I hope to inspire appreciation for the land and its many inhabitants; to encourage others to protect the region's biodiversity for future generations.

Beyond my artistic pursuits, I am a dedicated advocate for nature conservation. I have studied the biodiversity and ecology of Appalachia for over 25 years. I have great interest in rare and threatened species, and the environments that allow them to thrive. I'm fascinated by the rare pockets of old growth forest, that the terrain itself protected from decades of logging. I strive to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the natural wonders of my home region. My work not only captures the essence of Appalachia's natural beauty but also serves as a reminder of the need to protect and nurture it.
